What is the current market value of a 2007 silver toyota camry with a 4 cylinder engine?
I am looking to upgrade my car and the 2007 silver toyota camry often called the Spider shape is my top choice because of its spacious interior and reliability. I want the 4 cylinder version strictly for fuel economy. What is the current price for a clean tokunbo foreign used unit versus a Nigerian used unit? What specific hardware faults like dashboard melting or sticky steering wheels should I watch out for before paying the dealer?

3 days agoThe 2007 silver toyota camry (Spider) is one of the most reliable and highly sought after vehicles in Nigeria. Because it is highly desirable the prices have remained very strong. For a clean foreign used (tokunbo) 4 cylinder LE or XLE model you should expect to pay between 5.5 Million and 6.5 Million Naira depending heavily on the dollar exchange rate and customs duties. A neat Nigerian used unit will cost between 3.5 Million and 4.5 Million Naira. The 4 cylinder 2.4L engine (2AZ-FE) provides excellent fuel economy and produces enough power to navigate the highways comfortably. It is spacious cheap to maintain and commands immense respect as an executive daily driver.

3 days agoWhen inspecting a 2007 silver toyota camry you must be aware of its two major factory flaws. First the 2AZ-FE 4 cylinder engine in this specific generation is infamous for burning oil. You must check the engine oil dipstick frequently. If the previous owner neglected oil changes the piston rings get clogged causing the engine to consume massive amounts of oil between services. Second the dashboard material was defective from the factory. Under the hot Nigerian sun the dashboard literally melts turns shiny and becomes incredibly sticky to the touch causing a terrible glare on the windshield. When inspecting a Nigerian used unit press your fingernail into the dashboard; if it feels like chewing gum you will need to buy a dashboard cover mat or replace the entire panel.

3 days agoI drive the 2007 Spider. The oil burning issue is real. I have to top up my engine oil with a quart every three weeks. Aside from that the car is bulletproof. The AC is amazing.

3 days agoSilver is the absolute best color for resale in Nigeria. It hides scratches perfectly and does not absorb heat like a black car. If you buy a silver Camry you can sell it in 24 hours if you need urgent cash.

3 days agoDo not buy a Nigerian used Spider without running a scan on the ABS module. The ABS pump on this model sometimes fails and replacing it costs over 150,000 Naira. Make sure there are no brake warning lights on the dash.
