Where can I buy an original replacement for a burnt 2008 lexus is 250 amplifier and how much is it?

The sound system in my car suddenly stopped producing audio. The navigation screen still works perfectly but there is zero sound coming from the speakers. My auto electrician diagnosed it and confirmed that the factory Mark Levinson 2008 lexus is 250 amplifier located in the trunk is completely burnt due to water leaking into the boot space. Where is the best place in Ladipo market to buy a tested original replacement and what is the current price?

The burnt 2008 lexus is 250 amplifier is a very common and heartbreaking issue. Lexus designed the trunk of the IS250 with a major flaw; the air pressure vents hidden behind the rear bumper degrade over time allowing rainwater to pool directly into the amplifier well located on the passenger side of the trunk. Because it is the premium Mark Levinson audio system replacing it is very expensive. In Ladipo market a tested fairly used original Mark Levinson amplifier for the 2006 to 2012 IS250 currently costs between 180,000 and 250,000 Naira depending on your negotiation skills. You cannot bypass it with a cheap aftermarket amplifier because the factory amp controls the fiber optic network communicating with the navigation screen and climate controls.

Before you buy a replacement 2008 lexus is 250 amplifier you must fix the root cause of the problem otherwise your expensive new amplifier will burn in the next heavy rain. Take the car to a panel beater and have them remove the rear bumper. They need to seal the faulty cabin pressure vents with heavy duty waterproof silicone. Also check the sunroof drain tubes; if they are clogged water travels down the C-pillars and directly into the trunk. Once the trunk is completely bone dry you can install the new amplifier. When buying from Ladipo ensure you plug the amplifier into your car and test every single speaker (doors dashboard and subwoofer) before handing over the cash.

I suffered this exact problem. My amp blew during the rainy season. After replacing it for 200k I wrapped the new amplifier in a thick plastic bag before mounting it back in the trunk just to be extra safe against moisture.

Make sure you match the part numbers exactly! The standard Pioneer amplifier looks very similar to the Mark Levinson amplifier but they have different wiring harnesses. Check the sticker on your burnt amp before going to the market.

It is crazy how expensive that small metal box is but the Mark Levinson sound system is arguably the best factory audio system in the world. It is totally worth fixing.
