What is the current 2nd hand iphone 6 price and can it still use WhatsApp in 2024?
I need a very cheap secondary phone just for making calls and sending WhatsApp messages for my small business. The iPhone 6 is very compact and looks nice. What is the realistic 2nd hand iphone 6 price in the Nigerian market today for a 64GB version? More importantly since Apple stopped updating its iOS software will WhatsApp and banking applications still install and function properly on it right now?

3 days agoThe 2nd hand iphone 6 price in Nigeria today is incredibly low making it an attractive secondary device. You can find a neatly used 64GB iPhone 6 in Computer Village for roughly 30,000 to 45,000 Naira depending on the battery health and physical condition. It is a beautifully designed compact phone that still feels premium to hold. However to address your most critical question: The iPhone 6 is officially obsolete. Apple stopped supporting it at iOS 12. As of late 2023 WhatsApp officially dropped support for iOS 12. This means you CANNOT download install or use WhatsApp on an iPhone 6 today. The application will simply refuse to open and prompt you to upgrade your iOS which is impossible on this hardware.

3 days agoBeyond WhatsApp the software limitations of the iPhone 6 are severe in 2024. Major Nigerian banking applications like GTWorld or Access More require at least iOS 13 or iOS 14 to function securely. If you buy this phone you will be locked out of modern mobile banking. Furthermore the 1GB of RAM in the iPhone 6 is painfully insufficient today; opening Safari to browse the web will cause the phone to freeze and crash frequently. The battery life is also notoriously terrible draining from 100 percent to zero in less than three hours of screen time. If you need a cheap secondary Apple device for WhatsApp and banking you must buy at least an iPhone 8 which still supports the required iOS versions.

3 days agoDo not buy it! I bought one for my mother last month and we had to return it the next day because WhatsApp refused to install. The vendor refused to refund the cash so we had to swap it for a cheap Android.

3 days agoIt is only good for making normal GSM phone calls and sending text messages. It is basically an expensive Nokia torchlight phone at this point. Save your money.

3 days agoIf you really want the compact size of the iPhone 6 look for the original iPhone SE (1st generation). It looks identical to the iPhone 5s but has the faster processor of the iPhone 6s and can actually still run basic apps.
