Where can I find the best adjustable mannequin prices in nigeria for a new tailoring shop?
I am setting up a professional fashion design and tailoring studio in Lagos. I urgently need to purchase professional dress forms to drape and size fabrics accurately. I specifically need the ones with internal dials that allow you to expand the bust waist and hips. What are the current adjustable mannequin prices in nigeria for high quality durable units? Do they sell these specialized tailor dummies in major markets like Balogun or Trade Fair or do I have to order them from specialized industrial sewing machine vendors? Which brand offers the most accurate Nigerian body proportions?

3 days agoFor a professional fashion design studio standard display dummies will not work; you absolutely need dress forms. The adjustable mannequin prices in nigeria currently range between 120,000 and 180,000 Naira per unit depending on the brand and the size range (e.g. Size Small-Medium or Large-Extra Large). These specialized mannequins feature a system of internal gears and 12 to 14 adjustment dials located at the bust waist hips and neck. By turning these dials you can physically expand or shrink the dimensions of the dummy to perfectly match the exact measurements of your specific client allowing you to drape and pin fabrics with flawless precision without the client standing there for hours.

3 days agoTo find the best adjustable mannequin prices in nigeria you should bypass the general clothes display shops in Balogun market. You need to visit specialized industrial sewing machine and tailoring equipment vendors. The best locations in Lagos are the major sewing machine dealers in Oshodi market or the specialized tailoring hubs in Tejuosho Yaba. The most popular and reliable brands available in Nigeria are Singer and Dritz (often imported from the UK or US). These brands are excellent because the body is covered in a foam backed nylon fabric allowing you to stick pins directly into the mannequin. While they do not explicitly mimic the exact curves of a Nigerian body the extensive adjustment dials allow you to configure the waist to hip ratio to match local body types perfectly.

3 days agoI bought the Singer adjustable dress form last year for 135k in Yaba. It completely changed my business. I can now make bespoke native dresses for clients abroad without them ever coming in for a physical fitting.

3 days agoBe very gentle with the adjustment dials. If you force the bust dial to expand past its maximum limit the internal plastic gears will snap and the mannequin will be permanently stuck in that shape.

3 days agoDo not buy the cheap plastic display mannequins for tailoring! You cannot push pins into solid plastic. You must invest in the foam backed adjustable dress forms. It is an expensive but necessary investment for a professional tailor.
