Does the baseus magnetic wireless power bank 10000mah overheat when charging an iPhone 14 Pro Max?

I am tired of carrying long charging cables around Lagos. I want to purchase the baseus magnetic wireless power bank 10000mah because it snaps directly to the back of the phone using MagSafe. However I have read that wireless charging causes severe battery degradation due to heat. Is this Baseus power bank safe?

The baseus magnetic wireless power bank 10000mah is a fantastic piece of engineering designed specifically for MagSafe compatible iPhones (iPhone 12 and above). The magnetic snap is very strong meaning you can attach it to the back of your iPhone 14 Pro Max and continue making calls or texting without dropping the battery pack. To address your core concern: Yes wireless charging inherently generates significantly more heat than traditional wired charging because of energy loss during induction. When you use the Baseus power bank in the hot Nigerian climate the back of your iPhone will get noticeably warm to the touch especially if you are using the phone heavily while it is charging.

However getting warm is not the same as dangerous overheating. The baseus magnetic wireless power bank 10000mah has built in thermal management chips. If the internal temperature of the phone or the power bank reaches a critical threshold the Baseus power bank will automatically slow down the charging speed or pause charging entirely to protect your iPhones battery health. This is a safety feature standard in all premium MFi (Made for iPhone) accessories. To minimize heat degradation NEVER play heavy 3D games or record 4K video while the wireless power bank is attached. For normal top up charging during a busy day in Lagos it is perfectly safe and incredibly convenient compared to carrying tangled cables.

I use this exact Baseus power bank on my iPhone 13 Pro. It is a lifesaver when I am out at events. It charges the phone slightly slower than a cable but the convenience of just snapping it on is unbeatable.

If your iPhone has a very thick plastic or leather case the magnet will not stick properly and the charging will be terribly slow. You MUST use a MagSafe compatible phone case that has the magnetic ring built in.

Keep in mind that wireless charging is inefficient. A 10000mah wireless power bank will realistically only give your iPhone 14 Pro Max about one and a half full charges because a lot of the energy is lost as heat.
