What are the main features and durability of the bebe tab b 703 kids tablet?
I am comparing cheap educational devices for my primary school children. The bebe tab b 703 is very popular right now. I want to know if it supports Zoom for online classes and if it has a parental control mode to lock YouTube access. How robust is the rubber casing?

3 days agoThe bebe tab b 703 is a direct competitor to the Atouch kids tablets and it serves essentially the same purpose in the Nigerian market: an ultra budget learning device. Its main features include a 7 inch display standard dual cameras (which are very low resolution but fine for kids) and it comes preloaded with dozens of offline educational apps like spelling bees math puzzles and interactive storybooks. Yes it does support Zoom for online classes because it runs on the Android operating system. You can easily download Zoom and Google Classroom from the Play Store. However the front facing camera is quite blurry so your child will not look crystal clear on the video call.

3 days agoRegarding the durability of the bebe tab b 703 the manufacturer packages it inside a very thick silicone bumper case. This case is excellent; it has raised edges that protect the screen if the tablet falls flat on its face. The rubber is also textured making it easy for small sticky hands to grip. For parental controls it has a built in kids mode where you can set time limits and restrict access to the main Android interface. To fully lock down YouTube you should download the official "YouTube Kids" app and disable the main YouTube app in the settings. This ensures they only watch curated child friendly content. The battery is its weakest point lasting only about 3 hours of active screen time.

3 days agoI prefer the Bebe Tab over the Atouch because the touchscreen feels slightly more responsive. But you still need to buy a glass screen protector. Children will tap the screen aggressively with the stylus pen and scratch it.

3 days agoDo not expect this tablet to run fast. It takes almost a full minute just to boot up. Teach your kids patience. If they try to open five games at once the tablet will freeze and require a hard reboot.

3 days agoThe volume on the speakers is surprisingly loud which is great for the educational phonics games. It is a solid buy for 35k Naira. It keeps them away from my expensive iPhone.
