Does the bebe-tab b-703 have enough internal storage to download offline educational videos?

Data is very expensive so I prefer downloading educational cartoons and spelling videos while I am at the office to transfer to my kids devices at home. Does the bebe-tab b-703 accept memory cards? If it only has 16GB of internal memory how much of that is already consumed by the Android system files?

Storage capacity is indeed the biggest bottleneck on ultra budget educational devices like the bebe-tab b-703. The tablet is usually advertised as having 16GB or sometimes 32GB of internal storage. If you buy the 16GB version you must understand that the Android operating system itself and the heavy preloaded educational games will consume approximately 8GB to 10GB right out of the box. This leaves you with a painfully small 6GB of usable free space. If you are downloading high quality offline educational videos from YouTube or massive cartoon files that 6GB will fill up in less than three days causing the tablet to display the dreaded "Storage Space Running Out" error which heavily slows down the entire device.

Fortunately the bebe-tab b-703 does have a dedicated MicroSD memory card slot located under the rubber casing usually near the SIM tray. This is the absolute lifesaver for your offline video strategy. You should immediately purchase a genuine 32GB or 64GB MicroSD card (from trusted brands like SanDisk or Samsung). Once inserted go to the tablet settings and format the SD card as "Portable Storage". You can then set your YouTube app or web browser to save all downloaded offline videos directly to the SD card. This keeps the tablets internal memory free allowing the Android system to run smoothly while giving you massive space to store hundreds of hours of educational content for your kids without needing constant data.

I made the mistake of not buying a memory card. My daughter took photos of the ceiling 500 times and completely filled the internal storage causing the tablet to get stuck on the boot logo. Get a 32GB memory card immediately.

Do not format the SD card as "Internal Storage" (adoptable storage). The memory cards read speed is much slower than the tablets internal chip. If you force the tablet to run apps from the SD card the games will lag terribly.

If you want to transfer movies from your laptop just plug the tablet in via USB and drag the MP4 files into the "Movies" folder on the SD card. Download VLC player on the tablet to play them flawlessly offline.
