Where can I buy an authentic replacement binatone blade for an 18 inch industrial fan?
The heavy duty plastic blade on my Binatone standing fan recently shattered after falling over. The motor still spins perfectly so I do not want to buy a completely new fan. Where in Lagos can I find a genuine replacement binatone blade that perfectly fits the motor shaft without vibrating aggressively?

3 days agoFinding an authentic replacement binatone blade for an 18 inch industrial fan is very possible but you must be precise. The plastic blades on industrial fans shatter frequently when the fan tips over while running at high speed. Do not throw the fan away; the motor is the expensive part. To find a genuine replacement you must go to the major electronics spare parts hubs in Lagos. Alaba International market is the absolute headquarters for this but if that is too far the electronics section of Trade Fair complex or specialized appliance repair shops in Lawanson (Surulere) stock them heavily. A genuine thick plastic or aluminum replacement blade will cost between 3,500 and 6,000 Naira.

3 days agoWhen you go to buy the replacement binatone blade you MUST take the broken hub (the central piece of the shattered blade that attaches to the motor) with you. Fan motor shafts come in two designs: a perfect circle with a flat edge (D-shape) or a circle with a metal cross pin. If you buy a blade with the wrong center hole it will not fit on your motor. Furthermore insist on buying a blade made of flexible AS plastic or lightweight aluminum. If you buy a generic cheap hard plastic blade it will be unbalanced. An unbalanced blade will cause the entire fan to vibrate violently making a terrible noise and eventually destroying the internal bearings of your good Binatone motor.

3 days agoI had this exact issue. My maid knocked over the fan and the blade shattered into five pieces. I took the central piece to Lawanson market and got a direct replacement for 4,500 Naira. It works perfectly.

3 days agoIf you cannot find the plastic blade ask the vendor for the metal aluminum blade alternative. Metal blades push way more air and never shatter if the fan falls over but they are slightly louder than plastic blades.
