How do you identify a fake clone iphone 15 pro max before paying for it in Computer Village?
The counterfeit market in Nigeria is getting terrifyingly accurate. I want to buy a UK used iPhone 15 Pro Max but I am scared of ending up with a clone iphone 15 pro max running a customized Android skin. Besides checking the App Store what are the ultimate foolproof hardware and software tests I must run to verify absolute authenticity?

3 days agoIdentifying a clone iphone 15 pro max in Computer Village requires vigilance because the physical counterfeits are practically 1:1 replicas. They use real titanium style rails identical screen borders and weigh exactly the same. The ultimate foolproof hardware test is checking the display bezel and the Dynamic Island. Turn the brightness to 100 percent and open a white screen (like the notes app). A genuine iPhone 15 Pro Max has razor thin perfectly symmetrical black borders all around the screen. Clones use cheap LCD panels and always have a significantly thicker "chin" (the black border at the very bottom of the screen). Furthermore shine a flashlight directly at the Dynamic Island area while the screen is off. On a real iPhone you will see the pill shaped cutouts deep under the glass. On a clone you will just see a cheap square LCD cutout trying to mimic the shape.

3 days agoThe software tests are where the clone iphone 15 pro max completely falls apart. Do not just look at the App Store icon because clones now link their fake icons to actual web pages that look like the Apple App Store. The ultimate software test is plugging the phone into a laptop. Bring a laptop with iTunes or 3uTools installed. When you plug a genuine iPhone via a Type C cable 3uTools will instantly read the Apple logic board displaying the serial number battery health and confirming it is an authentic Apple device. A clone running Android will either not connect at all or will pop up on your laptop as a generic "USB Mass Storage" or "MediaTek Device". If the vendor refuses to let you plug the phone into a laptop walk away immediately; it is a scam.

3 days agoTest the True Tone feature! Swipe down the control center long press the brightness slider and toggle True Tone on and off. The screen should instantly change its color temperature to match the room lighting. Clones cannot fake True Tone hardware.

3 days agoGo to Settings General and About. Copy the serial number and type it into the official Apple Check Coverage website. Clones often steal real serial numbers but if the website says the phone is a Blue iPhone 13 and you are holding a Titanium iPhone 15 it is fake.
