Is starting a business with a liquid nano coating machine for phone screens profitable in Nigeria?

I am looking for a small side hustle with low startup capital. I see people using a small UV light coating machine for phone screens claiming it makes the glass unbreakable and scratch resistant without needing a physical tempered glass protector. How much does this machine cost and do Nigerians actually pay for this service?

Starting a side hustle with a liquid nano coating machine for phone screens is a highly viable and profitable micro business in Nigeria. The startup capital is incredibly low. You can purchase the complete starter kit (which includes the UV light curing machine several bottles of the nano liquid screen cleaning wipes and curing cloths) from major tech importers in Alaba or AliExpress for between 25,000 and 45,000 Naira. The profit margins are massive. One small bottle of the nano liquid costs about 2,000 Naira and can successfully coat up to 20 phones. Vendors typically charge customers between 2,000 and 5,000 Naira per phone application. If you position yourself in a busy mall university campus or a popular Computer Village junction you can easily recoup your entire investment in the first weekend of operation.

However to succeed with the coating machine for phone screens you must master the marketing and application process. Nigerians are highly skeptical of invisible protection. They are used to thick visible tempered glass. You have to demonstrate its value. Many successful vendors keep a "dummy phone" coated with the liquid and tap the screen aggressively with a pair of scissors in front of customers to prove it does not scratch. The application process takes about 5 minutes: you clean the screen perfectly drop the liquid spread it evenly and place it under the UV light box for 3 minutes to cure and harden. Your target market should be people with curved screen phones (like Samsung Galaxy Ultras) where traditional tempered glasses fail to stick properly and interfere with the under display fingerprint scanner.

I started this business in my university hostel. It is highly profitable. I charge 3k per phone and it takes 5 minutes. The best customers are iPhone users who hate the ugly look of thick screen protectors on their expensive screens.

You must be very honest with your customers. The coating makes the screen highly scratch resistant and waterproof but it DOES NOT make the phone bulletproof against massive drops. Tell them the truth so they do not come back to fight you when their screen cracks from a heavy fall.

Make sure you buy high quality nano liquid. The cheap generic ones wipe off after a week. The premium ones actually bond with the glass and make the screen feel incredibly smooth like it has an oleophobic coating that repels fingerprints.
