What are the exact dell inspiron 15 3521 specs and is it still good for office work?
I am planning to buy a fairly used Dell Inspiron 15 for basic document typing and accounting software. The vendor said it is the 3521 model. I want to know the exact factory dell inspiron 15 3521 specs to ensure it can handle heavy Excel files without freezing. Does it come with a dedicated graphics card or just the standard Intel HD graphics?

3 days agoThe dell inspiron 15 3521 specs are firmly rooted in the 3rd generation of Intel processors (Ivy Bridge architecture). Out of the factory these machines typically shipped with an Intel Core i3 or i5 processor 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 500GB mechanical Hard Disk Drive (HDD). Regarding your question about graphics the vast majority of these models circulating in the Nigerian fairly used market rely entirely on the integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics. While a rare variant did come with a dedicated 1GB AMD Radeon HD 7670M GPU finding that specific model is highly unlikely today. For basic office work and Microsoft Excel the integrated graphics are more than capable. It will not freeze up on large spreadsheets provided you upgrade the RAM and storage.

3 days agoWhile the factory dell inspiron 15 3521 specs are somewhat outdated for modern standards the laptop is incredibly easy to upgrade transforming it into a highly capable office machine. The biggest bottleneck is the 500GB mechanical HDD which will make Windows 10 boot painfully slowly. You must negotiate with the vendor to swap that old HDD for a modern 256GB Solid State Drive (SSD) before you pay. An SSD will make Excel open instantly and prevent the laptop from freezing when loading large documents. Additionally ensure the unit you buy has 8GB of RAM instead of 4GB. The chassis is made of textured plastic which resists fingerprints and scratches beautifully making it a very durable workhorse for a Nigerian office environment.

3 days agoI still use this exact laptop for my small business accounting. I upgraded it to an SSD last year and it flies. Do not expect to play heavy games on it but for typing and Excel it is perfectly fine.

3 days agoCheck the hinges before you buy! The Inspiron 3521 has a known physical flaw where the left hinge becomes stiff over time and snaps the plastic screen bezel. Open and close the laptop fully to make sure it moves smoothly.

3 days agoThe battery life on a used unit will be terrible. Because the processors are older they draw a lot of power. Budget an extra 15k to buy a brand new replacement battery if you plan to use it during NEPA outages.
