What is the brand new iphone 8 price in nigeria or are they all refurbished now?

I want to buy an iPhone 8 but I strongly dislike buying used gadgets because of hidden hardware faults. Some online vendors are aggressively advertising brand new sealed units. What is the true brand new iphone 8 price in nigeria? Did Apple actually continue manufacturing this specific model or are these vendors simply selling heavily refurbished phones packaged in counterfeit boxes with fake shrink wrap to deceive buyers?

I must be completely blunt: There is no authentic brand new iphone 8 price in nigeria because brand new iPhone 8 units do not exist anywhere in the world. Apple officially discontinued the manufacturing of the iPhone 8 in April 2020. Any vendor in Nigeria claiming to sell a "brand new sealed" iPhone 8 today is executing a highly sophisticated and malicious scam. These units are actually heavily used often damaged phones imported from China or Dubai. Technicians repair them using cheap aftermarket LCD screens fake batteries and fake generic outer glass casings. They then place the rebuilt phone into a counterfeit printed Apple box and shrink wrap it with plastic to deceive unsuspecting buyers.

If you purchase one of these fake "brand new" iPhone 8 units you will experience massive hardware failures within a month. The fake batteries swell up and push the screen out and the cheap LCD screens are unresponsive and wash out colors. To protect yourself you must completely ignore any vendor advertising a brand new unit of a discontinued model. Only purchase "UK Used" or "Fairly Used" units where you can physically hold the phone inspect the original Apple screen for True Tone functionality and plug it into a laptop running 3uTools to verify the authenticity of the internal parts. Buy the phone naked without the fake box; it is vastly safer than falling for the shrink wrap scam.

A friend of mine paid 140k for a "brand new sealed" iPhone 8 in Alaba. The phone got extremely hot during the first charge and the screen started peeling off the frame. It was entirely built with fake plastic parts. Beware.

Any vendor selling a sealed iPhone 8 in 2024 is a fraudster. Check the IMEI number on the Apple Warranty Coverage website. The website will tell you the phone was activated and the warranty expired 5 years ago.

It is much safer to buy a clean UK used phone with minor scratches. Those scratches prove it has its original factory casing. A flawless housing on an old phone usually means the casing was replaced with a cheap Chinese copy.
