What is the used iphone s6 64gb price today and can it run modern banking apps?
I am looking for a very cheap secondary phone just for receiving calls and doing mobile banking. I saw some deals online for the iPhone 6s (often misspelled by vendors as the iphone s6). Exactly what is the used iphone s6 64gb price in the market today? Since Apple stopped updating its software years ago will modern Nigerian banking applications like GTWorld or Access More still install and function securely on this device?

2 days agoLet me clarify the model first: Vendors heavily misspell it but you are looking for the iPhone 6s. The used iphone s6 64gb price (iPhone 6s) in the Nigerian market is practically at rock bottom currently ranging between 35,000 and 45,000 Naira. At this price point it is strictly a budget emergency device. The physical design still feels great in the hand because of the aerospace grade aluminum chassis and it retains the beloved physical headphone jack. For simply making calls sending SMS and basic email reading it functions perfectly well as a secondary device.

2 days agoHowever to answer your critical question regarding modern banking applications: Buying the iPhone 6s today is highly risky for secure mobile banking. Apple officially ended software support for the iPhone 6s at iOS 15. While some major Nigerian banking apps (like GTWorld) still technically function on iOS 15 today they are rapidly updating their security protocols. By the end of the year it is highly probable that your bank will mandate iOS 16 or iOS 17 to open the application effectively locking you out of your account on this device. Furthermore WhatsApp officially drops support for older iOS versions regularly. If you need a secure device guaranteed to run banking apps for the next two years you must stretch your budget to at least the iPhone SE (2nd Gen) or an Android device.

2 days agoI use the 6s just as a Wi-Fi hotspot device. The battery is terribly weak it dies in 90 minutes if you browse the internet. Do not rely on it as your main phone.

2 days agoMy Access More app still works on my 6s but the app is very slow to load. It takes almost a full minute to open the dashboard. The processor is just too old to handle modern encrypted apps quickly.

2 days agoDo not buy it. Save up another 50k and buy an iPhone 8. The 6s is a dead phone walking. You will waste your 40k when WhatsApp stops working on it next year.
