Is the used iphone x in nigeria price dropping because of the green line screen issues?
I noticed that the used iphone x in nigeria price has dropped significantly recently sometimes even cheaper than the iPhone 8 Plus. I heard this is because the iPhone X OLED screen is notoriously defective and frequently develops a permanent bright green vertical line down the display. Is this green line issue a confirmed hardware defect? If I buy one and the screen develops this line how much does a replacement OLED screen cost in Ikeja?

2 days agoThe sudden drop in the used iphone x in nigeria price is directly tied to the terrifyingly high failure rate of its OLED screen. The iPhone X uses an older generation Samsung manufactured OLED panel that suffers from a severe confirmed hardware defect. After years of use or from a very minor drop a tiny microscopic fracture occurs in the internal display flex cable. This instantly causes a blindingly bright permanent green or pink vertical line to run down the entire length of the screen. It is an incredibly common disease for the iPhone X. Vendors are dropping the prices drastically because buyers are increasingly aware of this risk and prefer the much safer LCD screen of the iPhone XR.

2 days agoIf you buy an iPhone X and develop this green line the financial penalty is brutal. The green line cannot be fixed with software; you must replace the entire screen assembly. In Computer Village an authentic original "pulled" OLED replacement screen for the iPhone X costs between 65,000 and 85,000 Naira. Many technicians will offer you a cheaper replacement for 25,000 Naira. DO NOT accept it. That cheap replacement is a fake LCD screen masquerading as an OLED. If you install the fake LCD the colors will look washed out the battery will drain twice as fast because LCDs consume more power and the phone will lose its True Tone functionality. The high risk of a 80,000 Naira screen repair makes the iPhone X a dangerous budget purchase.

2 days agoMy iPhone X developed the green line randomly while it was sitting on my desk charging. It never fell. The screen replacement cost me 75k. It is a terrible factory defect.

2 days agoThis is exactly why everyone recommends the iPhone XR instead. The XR has thick bezels but its LCD screen is bulletproof. It never gets the green line disease.

2 days agoIf you buy an iPhone X with a fake LCD screen the bottom bezel of the phone becomes very thick because LCD panels cannot be folded internally like OLED panels. It ruins the edge to edge look completely.
