Why do iphone x prices in nigeria fluctuate so wildly across different Instagram vendors?
I am trying to budget for a new phone but the iphone x prices in nigeria are incredibly confusing. Some Instagram vendors sell it for 120k while others are asking for 180k for the exact same 64GB storage capacity. Why is there such a massive price discrepancy? Are the cheaper ones bypassed iCloud locked phones or are the expensive vendors just adding an insane markup fee for "premium delivery" services?

2 days agoThe wild fluctuation of iphone x prices in nigeria across Instagram is a combination of greedy marketing tactics and the dangerous sale of bypassed devices. Legitimate vendors selling a clean factory unlocked UK used iPhone X will price it around 160,000 Naira because it costs a premium to import high grade units. When you see a vendor aggressively advertising the exact same phone for 110,000 Naira or less you must exercise extreme caution. These heavily discounted phones are almost always "Bypassed" or "Chip Unlocked" units. Bypassed phones are stolen or lost devices where local hackers use software exploits to bypass the iCloud activation lock.

2 days agoBuying a bypassed phone is a terrible trap. While a bypassed iPhone X functions normally on the surface you can NEVER format reset or update the software on the phone. The moment you click "Erase All Content and Settings" or attempt an iOS update the bypass breaks and the phone permanently locks itself back to the original owners iCloud account rendering it a useless brick. Additionally chip unlocked phones require a tiny fragile microchip placed under your SIM card to trick the network. If the chip shifts slightly you lose all network signals. Always pay the market premium for a Factory Unlocked completely wiped Grade A unit to avoid buying a stolen brick.

2 days agoI bought a 120k iPhone X from an Instagram vendor. Two months later my phone automatically updated overnight and woke up on the Activation Lock screen. My money vanished. Never buy bypassed phones.

2 days agoSome expensive Instagram vendors are just drop shippers. They do not even own the phones. They take your order go to Computer Village buy it for 150k and sell it to you for 190k. Always try to visit physical stores.

2 days agoA quick way to test a bypassed phone: Ask the vendor to factory reset the phone completely in front of you before you pay. If they refuse or make excuses walk away instantly. A genuine phone can be reset 100 times without issues.
