Is buying a modded iphone xr 13 or iphone xr-13 body upgrade a safe decision?
Computer Village is full of vendors selling an iphone xr 13 which is essentially an iPhone XR motherboard forced into a counterfeit square edge iPhone 13 or 13 Pro casing. They look exactly like an iPhone 13 from the outside but sell for the price of an XR. Is this iphone xr-13 casing modification actually safe to use? Does moving the motherboard into a fake casing destroy the cellular network antenna or cause severe overheating?

2 days agoThe trend of buying an iphone xr 13 or the iphone xr-13 body modification is one of the most dangerous aesthetic trends in Computer Village. This modification involves taking the motherboard screen and internal components of a genuine iPhone XR and forcing them into a counterfeit square edged aluminum housing designed to look exactly like the iPhone 13 Pro. It appeals to users who want the prestige of the three camera iPhone 13 Pro without spending a million Naira. However this modification completely destroys the engineering integrity of the device. Apple highly calibrated the internal thermals of the XR to match its original curved casing. Moving the motherboard into a fake cramped square casing ruins heat dissipation causing the phone to overheat aggressively during minor tasks.

2 days agoBeyond overheating the iphone xr-13 modification causes catastrophic network and camera issues. The cellular and Wi-Fi antenna bands on iPhones are precisely glued to the original aluminum frame. When local technicians rip these antennas out and glue them into a cheap aftermarket Chinese housing the signal strength degrades massively. You will experience constant dropped calls and weak Wi-Fi reception. Furthermore the camera setup is a blatant fraud. The fake 13 Pro casing has three massive camera lenses but the iPhone XR motherboard only supports one camera. The two extra lenses on the back are completely fake pieces of glass. Do not buy these Frankenstein devices; they are prone to sudden motherboard death due to trapped heat and poor reassembly.

2 days agoMy friend bought the XR in 13 Pro casing to flex. The phone overheats so badly that the screen dims to zero percent brightness if he plays a game for ten minutes. It is a terrible idea.

2 days agoThe flash on those modded phones never aligns perfectly. If you try to use the flashlight or take a picture at night the light reflects inside the fake plastic housing and makes the photo look hazy and blurry.

2 days agoIt is peak vanity. If you can only afford an XR buy a clean original XR and be proud of it. Buying a modded fake 13 Pro just makes you look desperate and guarantees your phone will break in three months.
