Are the lower iphone xr prices in nigeria due to battery health degradation?

I have found some vendors offering heavily discounted deals on the XR. Are these extremely low iphone xr prices in nigeria usually a sign that the battery health has degraded below 80 percent? If I buy an XR with 75 percent battery health how many hours of screen time will it actually give me and is it easy to find an original Apple replacement battery locally to restore its performance?

When you encounter unusually low iphone xr prices in nigeria you are absolutely correct to suspect severe battery health degradation. The iPhone XR is a six year old device. Any original factory battery still inside the phone has undergone hundreds of charge cycles and is chemically exhausted. If you buy an XR with a battery health of 75 percent or lower it will not give you the legendary all day battery life the XR is famous for. A 75 percent battery will realistically only provide about 3 to 4 hours of continuous screen time and it may cause the phone to unexpectedly shut down when using heavy apps like the camera or Uber because the degraded battery cannot provide peak voltage spikes.

Fortunately addressing the battery issue is relatively straightforward if you factor it into the discounted price. Finding a high quality replacement battery for the iPhone XR locally is very easy. Do not search for a "genuine Apple" battery because Apple does not sell them to third party Nigerian vendors. Instead seek out premium aftermarket brands like Nohon Baseus or Deji which are heavily stocked in Computer Village. A high capacity Nohon battery costs about 18,000 to 25,000 Naira including installation. However be warned: starting from the iPhone XS and XR replacing the battery triggers a software lock. Your phone will display an "Important Battery Message" and will no longer show the battery health percentage in settings unless the technician microsolders the original battery chip onto the new battery which is a complex procedure.

I bought a cheap XR with 78 percent health. I replaced it with a Nohon battery and the phone literally lasts two days now. It is totally worth buying a cheap degraded unit if you plan to upgrade the battery immediately.

Do not mind the "Important Battery Message" warning. It does not affect the performance of the phone at all. It is just Apple being greedy and trying to force you to use their expensive official repair centers.

If a vendor sells you a used XR and the battery health says exactly 100 percent be very suspicious. It is almost impossible for an old phone to be 100 percent unless the battery was replaced or they used a "battery booster" tool to temporarily fake the software percentage to trick you.
