Does the dehumidifier logik effectively stop mold on walls during the rainy season?
My apartment in Lekki gets incredibly damp during the rainy season causing green mold to grow on my leather shoes and painted walls. A friend recommended I buy the dehumidifier logik brand to extract the moisture from the air. Does this machine actually work well enough to keep a large bedroom completely dry? How often do you have to empty the water tank?

2 days agoThe dehumidifier logik brand is a lifesaver for residents in highly humid coastal areas like Lekki or Victoria Island. During the intense Nigerian rainy season the relative humidity inside apartments often exceeds 85 percent. This excessive moisture is the exact reason why your leather shoes belts and painted walls grow destructive green mold. The Logik dehumidifier works essentially like a miniature air conditioner. It pulls the damp air into the machine runs it over freezing cold coils to condense the moisture into liquid water and blows the dry warm air back into your room. It is highly effective; running it in a damp bedroom will completely eliminate mold growth and eliminate that heavy musty smell within 48 hours.

2 days agoRegarding the water tank capacity and maintenance of the dehumidifier logik you will be absolutely shocked by how much water it extracts from the air. A standard 10 liter or 12 liter Logik machine has an internal collection tank that holds about 2.5 liters of water. During the peak of the rainy season in a damp Lekki apartment you will easily fill that tank completely in less than 8 hours. You will have to pull the tank out and dump the water down the sink once or twice a day. If you do not want the hassle of constantly emptying the tank most models come with a continuous drainage port. You can attach a small rubber hose to the back and run it directly into your bathroom floor drain allowing the machine to run 24/7 without stopping.

2 days agoI bought a Logik dehumidifier last July when mold ruined my expensive leather jackets. It is amazing. I dumped out almost 3 liters of water from my bedroom air on the very first day. My room feels incredibly fresh now.

2 days agoThe machine generates a bit of heat while running. It is not an air conditioner it blows out slightly warm dry air. So you will likely need to run your ceiling fan or AC simultaneously if you want the room to stay cool.

2 days agoIt consumes quite a bit of electricity usually around 250W to 300W. But it is totally worth it to save your expensive clothes and prevent respiratory issues from breathing in toxic mold spores all night.
